Yesterday afternoon Brian and I visited the Hanbat Arboretum, the largest artificial arboretum within a city in Korea.
It’s amazing that such beautiful place full of nature at its best can be found right in the middle of a city!
Throughout the 19 different themed areas, you can see hundreds of different plant species ranging from tropical flowers to coniferous trees.
The paths through the arboretum are quiet and relaxing, allowing you to take in the beauty of the area in a very peaceful setting.
Many people had blankets set out and were enjoying quiet time or having picnics with their families.
The main grassy areas were full of kids playing and along the main pathways, bikers were everywhere (you can even rent bikes there to ride).
In addition to the flower and forest portions of the arboretum, there is also a main stage area set up in the center pavilion where some sort of show (comedy, perhaps) was taking place yesterday.
I wish that more of the flowers had been in bloom yesterday as we could tell that the place was probably even more breathtaking when everything is in full bloom, but regardless, a beautiful place to spend an afternoon!
