Airport Mornings

Another early morning at the airport but I can’t say that I’m complaining.  I got an egg white sandwich and coffee from Dunkin Donuts…

…which apparently now comes with a free banana (score)!

And I was on my way to meet Brian in St. Louis where we both had layovers on our way to Oklahoma City!

Today marks the beginning of our next stop along this baseball life as Brian will report to his first game with the OKC Redhawks, the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros.

Bring on the new city, the new team and the new chance for a successful 2012 season!

Daddy-Telli Time

Yesterday afternoon Brian and I took Telli for a trail walk at a local reservoir for some exercise.

It was our first official family outing since we had gotten back from Korea and Telli loved the extra attention and was so well behaved throughout the whole walk.

Such a good boy!

After our walk, we went to my parents house to see how our little buddy felt about the pool.

He loves to get in the water at the reservoir and prance around so we were anxious to see how he reacted to the pool full of water.

At first he was extrememly tentative but eventually gave in to having his feet on the top step (all in the pursuit of a tee ball).

When we finally got him completely in the water, he wasn’t such a fan but was an extremely good doggie-paddler and made his way back to the steps and out of the pool in a hurry.

After some more Daddy-Telli time running around outside followed by a bath, he passed out hard last night! Poor little guy was exhausted from all of the run!

The extra play time with Brian and Telli was definitely needed since this morning packed luggage once again decorated our kitchen.

After two days at home with our family finally together again, Brian is back off on his next baseball adventure and Telli and I are stuck at home without him. Womp Womp!

I’ll be meeting up with him again soon but Telli has to hold out until July to get more Daddy play time. He’s going to be one sad pup when he realizes it!

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was again the common theme since getting back home. An English muffin egg sandwich with an over-easy egg, turkey bacon and cheddar cheese.

When I sat down to eat, I, of course, forgot that it was an over-easy egg and not a fried one on the sandwich and bit right into the runny yolk. I lost have of the delicious gooey-ness all over the table. Whoops!

Telli has doggy school this morning and then I’m hoping to hit the gym for an afternoon workout.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Question:

If you have a dog, do they like water and swimming?

How Sweet It Is

We finally made it home yesterday after 25 hours of travel from South Korea to Atlanta to Baltimore. We spent the evening with some family, friends and Telli which was exactly what we needed after being away for so long. We enjoyed dinner with my parents, sister and brother-in-law and then retreated back to our house for a little time with friends who stopped by to welcome us home.

And then 31 hours after our last alarm wake up call in Daejeon, we finally called it a night and crashed hard in our own bed in our own house. Amazing.

Breakfast

Thanks to my mom stocking our pantry and fridge with some of our favorite groceries, we were able to start this morning off with breakfast in our own kitchen!

She obviously didn’t forget to throw some goodies in our freezer either!

What to have for breakfast was a no brainer for me – something I have been craving since early on when I had gotten to Korea – an English muffin egg sandwich.

One fried egg, cheddar cheese, turkey bacon and blueberry jam.

Welcome home!

I savored every last bite!

For the rest of the day we plan to unpack, run errands and just get our life in Baltimore back in order. Beginning with these not-intimidating-at-all piles of laundry!

And we also have a lot of missed time to make up for with this Monster!

He’s such a little man now – we can hardly believe it!

Question:

What is the first thing you do when you get back from an extended trip somewhere or vacation?

Off to Busan

This afternoon, I’m catching the KTX to Busan, the largest port city in South Korea.

I’m really excited to get to see another city and am even more so excited for it to be Busan.  Between the mountains and ocean, I can’t wait to see the spectacular views.

I’m not sure that we will have time to make it to the beach area at all and not that it will be warm enough for bathing suits just yet but I’m still anxious to see what the city has to offer.

Brian and I did a little research last night and are hoping that since we both will be getting there early evening tonight and since tomorrow’s season opener is a day game, that we might have some time to explore both tonight and tomorrow night.

Regardless, even the stadium looks like a place to be seen AND I can’t wait to see an actual game here in Korea and see what all the hype is about.  After the bits and pieces I saw in spring training, I’m sure the regular season games (not to mention the season opener) are going to be crazy!

Here’s to safe travels to Busan and exploring city #5 on our baseball travels through South Korea!
